Objective:To evaluate the effects of the conditionally replicating adenovirus carrying interleukin - 24 combined with radiation on cervical cancer Hela cell. Methods:Hela cells were divided into four groups:PBS group, radiation group,ZD55 - IL - 24 group and ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation group. The cell viability was assessed by MTT assay. The apoptotic rate of cells was assessed by Annexin V - FITC/ PI assay. The expression of Bax,Bcl - 2 was detected by Western blot. Results:PBS group,cell viability of radiation group,ZD55 - IL - 24 group and ZD55 -IL - 24 with radiation group were(7. 28 ± 1. 99)% ,(45. 16 ± 4. 12)% ,(33. 23 ± 2. 63 )% and(85. 27 ± 2. 03)% , which reveals cell viability of ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation group was higher than other groups(P < 0. 05). Annexin V - FITC / PI revealed that the apoptotic rate of ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation was higher than other groups(P< 0. 05). ROS level of ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation was higher than other groups(P < 0. 05). The expression of Bax in ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation group was higher than in other groups(P < 0. 05),while the expression of Bcl - 2 in ZD55 - IL - 24 with radiation group was lower than in other groups(P < 0. 05).
