论乔姆斯基的西方修辞艺术

摘要

Noam Chomsky is a famous linguist , philosopher and political activist and is described as one of the most influential thinkers .From the perspective of Rhetoric , this paper focuses on Chomsky ’ s political theory which is less paid attention to by domestic researchers , analyzing how Chomsky smartly use Rhetoric to solve Orwellian Problem , convince audience to believe in his political theory and turn himself from a “dissent” to a remarkable po-litical activist from four basic and important elements in Rhetoric , self-effacement, audience, ethos and figure of speech , in order to acquaint readers with Chomsky as a Rhetorical practitioner and better their understanding of his political theory and the art of Rhetoric .%乔姆斯基是一位著名的语言学家、哲学家及政治活动家，被认为是当代最具影响力的思想家之一。乔姆斯基的政治理论较少为国内学者所关注，以西方修辞学为视角，从修辞的自我韬晦、修辞受众观、修辞权威及辞格这四个修辞方面探讨，乔姆斯基巧妙地利用修辞技巧解答“奥威尔之惑”，让受众信服他的政治理论，从少数派的“持不同政见者”变成备受瞩目的政治活动家。由此读者认识到乔姆斯基作为成功的修辞实践者的新身份，从而加深对其政治理论和西方修辞艺术的理解。
