After entering the city, Esenin won a supreme fame. Because of his decadent approach to life, he fell into a spiritual crisis, and his writing shows a depression tone with apparent antagonism against the city life. At the end of his life, he also tried but failed to reconcile himself to his treatment towards rural and urban conflicts, ultimately ending in tragedy because of his failure in marriage and unfair criticism.
