苔丝性格新探

摘要

学界对苔丝形象的传统解读大多数是正面的，认为她是一个纯洁、善良、富于责任感的人，而对于苔丝悲剧的成因大多也归结于社会因素。然而，从文本细读入手，不但可以发现苔丝性格中的弱点，也能挖掘出苔丝悲剧的性格因素。%Traditional academic interpretation of the image of Tess has been mostly positive, that, a pure, kind character full of a sense of responsibility and the tragedy of Tess is mostly attributed to social factors. However, intensive reading can find not only character weaknesses but also character factors of the tragedy of Tess.
