古代时期中国地名的英译研究

摘要

Nowadays,the systematic research in mainland China on the English translation of Chinese place names in ancient times (from Song and Yuan dynasty to early Qing dynasty)is relatively rare.The paper mainly analyzes and studies on Chinese ancient maps in English version existing in China and abroad.The English translation of Chinese place names in ancient times is mainly based on the transliteration of local dialects,while the spelling method is gradually in the transition from copying the translation of other languages to spelling with the language factors and characteristics of English.The relatively full English translation method of Chinese place names in ancient times is initially formed.%现阶段国内对古代时期（宋元时期至清早期）中国地名英译的系统性研究相对较少。通过对国内外现有英文版中国古地图资料进行分析和研究，发现古代时期我国地名的英译以对各地方言的音译为主，拼写方法由最初照搬其他语系、语族语言的译名，逐步向以英语自身的语言因素和特点进行拼写过渡，最终形成了比较完整的古代时期我国地名英文翻译方法。
