近代中国日语翻译之滥觞--东文学堂考

摘要

东文学堂是甲午战前中国政府开设在驻日中国公使馆内的日文学校，为近代中国最早培养日语翻译的官方机构。限于资料，迄今鲜有研究。本文对其教习、学员、特征等一些基本事实进行了系统的梳理，并对近代中国人留学日本的起源提出了新的见解。%Dongwen School was the first Chinese-Japanese translation school operated by the Qing government before the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) in the Japanese Legation. Limited by the rarity of paper resources, few studies have been done on the school to date. This paper focuses on an analysis of the basic information such as descriptions of teachers, students and overall characteristics and gives a new explanation for the origin of Chinese students studying in Japan.
