Vocabulary teaching in College English Intensive Reading is a very difficult task for most English teachers. One of the reasons for this is the limited materials and the difficulty in implementing the syllabus with regard to vocabulary teaching in various ways. Explaining the meaning of words in the native language has been a means of vocabulary teaching for many years. This paper shows that how teachers can use context to present vocabulary in College English Intensive Reading, which is supposed to be one of the best ways to convey meaning to students.
