傲慢与偏见∶浅析流行美剧中中国形象的“误读”

摘要

美剧是当今全球化文化传播与交流的重要载体。在很多流行美剧中,都会出现有关中国的形象,然而这些形象大多数体现的是西方价值体系下对中国的＂误读＂。本文以两部经典美剧《老友记》和《欲望都市》为例,总结美剧中出现的中国形象和特征,分析在带有偏见色彩的西方话语下,美剧对于＂他者＂中国的构建和塑造,以此阐释＂误读＂的原因。%American TV series now play an important role in the global cultural communication. However, in many popular American TV series, the Chinese images are usually misread by the western value system. This article takes the classic TV series Friends and Sex and City as examples to analyze the features of Chinese images which appear in the stories. The reasons of misreading are interpreted by analyzing the construction of Chinese identity as the "other" in the western discourse. At last, we propose that in order to avoid the misunderstanding and prejudice, we should enhance the communication between cultures and reach the mutual understanding.
