The phenomenon of collective kowtow to Confucius these years usually is not the result of the freedom of pure personal belief, but that of some menace or even coercion, which comes from some man or organization who holds power. Such“mentality of kowtow” not only goes against the thought of Confucius himself and the basic principle of Confucianism, but also embodies “kowtow culture”, which not only goes against the modern lifestyle and the values of modern civilization, but also infringes upon human rights.%近年来所出现的集体跪拜孔子的现象，往往并非纯粹的个人信仰自由，而是某种裹挟乃至裹胁的结果；这种裹胁，往往来自某个握有权力的个人或组织机构。这种“跪拜心态”既违背了孔子本人的思想、儒学的基本原理，也体现了“跪拜文化”。这种“跪拜文化”既违背现代生活方式、现代文明价值，也侵犯人权。
