The experiment results showed that the fading time (t) of resazurin had a certain relationship with the total bacteria count (N) in milk, and a mathematic regression model was established by biological statistics, N= A1ekt+γ0, N= 5 969.906 94-0.888636t+36.544 59. The resazurin reduction method was rapid in detecting the total bacteria count in milk, and the detection time was reduced by about 40 hours in comparison with the conventional colony counting method.
