文化反叛背后的道德寻根--《夜幕下的大军》之伦理解读

The ethical reading of “The Armies of the Night”reveals that this work is not simply a work of cultural rebellion,but with implicit ethical significance.Combining writing of authentic life and narration of subjective history,Mailer exposes the ethical unconsciousness in objective reporting of Vietnam War and depicts the moral condition of the 1960s.This paper argues that through social critique,“The Armies of the Night”reaffirms the value of traditional American ethics which emphasizes the unity of personal freedom and civic responsibility and thus shows the ethical dimension of New Journalism.%在伦理批评的视域中审视诺曼·梅勒的代表作《夜幕下的大军》，可以看出这部作品并非简单停留于文化反叛层面，而是以社会批评为手段，展开对美国传统道德的寻根与回归。梅勒通过本真生命的书写与主观历史的叙事两种策略来讲述反越战游行，暴露出客观新闻报道的“伦理无意识”，从而真实再现了美国20世纪60年代的社会道德图景。《夜幕下的大军》肯定了重视个体自由、呼吁公民责任的美国传统伦理观，显示出新新闻主义创作寓于激进的社会批判之中的伦理旨归。
