合作学习理论在大学英语文化教学中的应用

         

摘要

It has been universally acknowledged that language and culture are closely interrelated. Cultural teaching has been a very necessary part of college English. However, after we solve the problem “what to teach” in College English, the problem “how to teach” comes up accordingly. This paper tries to explore seminars, as an important form of cooperative classroom learning, because it is a new but practical way to teach culture in College English. It can both help input the cultural knowledge to the language learners, and raise the cultural awareness, so as to improve the language learners’ ability of inter-cultural communication.%近年来,我国外语教学界对大学英语教学中的文化教学日益重视,毫不夸张地说,教语言必须教文化已经成为公理。但是解决了“教什么”的问题之后,“怎么教”这个问题随之而来。本文试图从合作学习和课堂小组互动理论入手,提出小组讨论(Seminar)是合作学习重要形式之一。小组讨论(Seminar)在大学英语文化教学中既满足了文化教学的特殊需要,提供学生必要的文化知识,又能在实际操作中让学生达到文化理解。小组讨论(Seminar)形式为大学英语文化教学提供了一个全新的课堂互动模式。
