In its white paper entitled Digital Security & Due Procedure:Modernizing Cross-Border Government Access Standards for the Cloud Era, Google attempted to reach a new framework which could balance the need for law enforcement and the protection for user's privacy. This white paper highlighted the problems which might exist in the process that law enforcement authorities obtained the individual digital evidence, and contributed to the discussions on the relevant solutions and practical examples. Besides, the white paper is a reflection of the desire for Internet companies to play an important role in the development of international law in cyberspace.
