In the past few years, Russia and the United States increase geopolitical competition in Central Asia. Although Russia and the U.S. agreed to cooperate, jointly tackle the threat posed by the situation from the turmoil in Afghanistan, but distinct strategic interests of the two countries led to their so-called ＂military base race＂, the purpose is to obtain a military foothold in Central Asia. U.S. bases in Central Asia is used to implement the northern transportation network, which is a serious threat to the Russian military and security in Central Asia＇s traditional influence, prompting Russia＇s attempt to contain U,S. expansion.
