In the new process, glucose is oxidized to gluconic acid by Glucose Oxidase and Catalase directly and neutralized by Zinc Oxide, followed by onestep crystallization. The advantages of the new process are: simpler process, easier control, less capital investment, higher product quality, less energy consumption and more environmental friendly. The novel process has been tested in lab scale and also commercialized. It has been proved to be a new, effective and economically viable way to produce Zinc Gluconate.
