By adding an off-chip SRAM , the display buffer is offered. At the same time CPLD realizes two main functions. One is to generate the timing signal needed by TFT-LCD. The other is to coordinate both the operation of reading SRAM by TFT-LCD and the operation of writing SRAM by MCU. Relative to other common TFT-LCD controller, this method owns some obvious advantages: the structure is very simple, and it's cost-effective. So this method has highly practical value when driving small TFT liquid crystal display.
