Based on input-output tables of China in 2005 and 2010, this paper sheds some lights on the relationship between education and economic development, including that of each industrial sectors, the macro-economy at the national level and agents participating economic activities. Results show that: education in Mainland China is a relatively independent sector, resulting from its lagged development and weak-correlation to economy; education improves income level and structure of wealth distribution; competitiveness of education in Mainland China increases a lot, but still not capable enough to meet domestic demand for quality education.%基于中国2005和2010年投入-产出表,本文从国民经济整体和各经济参与主体两个层面,初步分析了教育业与经济发展的关系。结果表明:(1)相对其它产业,中国教育发展滞后,与国民经济整体关联度较低,呈现出“相对独立”的特征和趋势;(2)教育发展有助于提高劳动者收入水平,改善收入分配结构;(3)中国教育的国际竞争力有所提高,但相对国内需求水平而言还较弱。
