Active RFID system is suitable for low-power wireless tracking of people and objects. ZigBee is a LAN (local area network) protocol based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard and features high-performance, low-cost and low power-consumption. This paper describes how a ZigBee mesh network could be applicable to RFID system and gives the design.
