The significance of research on electromagnetic wave absorbing materials and their application in EMC design are introduced. The electromagnetic wave lose mechanism of absorbing materials comprises resistance loss, dielectric loss and magnetic loss. The study atatus and advance of thrre types of traditional absorbing materials are described. Then the nature,absorbing mechanisms and value of some new pattern absorbing materials are introduced in detail.
