Leisure and vacation resort this particular type of project is still in the early stages of development in China. The Changbai Mountain International Resort is the largest development of the type in China both in terms of initial investment and construction scope. Through introducing the design of the core area that recently opened to the public, this paper-attempts to summarize and explore the design principals of such projects. The core area includes several high-end international resort hotels, tourist town center, international conference facilities, large ski resort, lake area and service area. The scope of design that ECOLAND Planning and Design is responsible for covers landscape planning and design for the core area as well as the main entrance gateway design and some architectural design.
