The Raman spectroscopy technology was employed for the determination of several kinds of plastic. The standard Raman spectra of polyethylene terephthalate ( PET), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and polycarbonate (PC) were obtained. By comparing the Raman spectrum of the sample and the standard Raman spectum, the plastic sample could be identified rapidly and accurately.
