It is critical that making accurate perioperative risk stratification to patients. BNP is a reliable biomarker of cardiac injury. The paper reviewed the progress of BNP in predicting perioperative cardiovascular events in non-cardiac surgery. The advantages and prospects of BNP was also elaborated as a predictive indicator.
