The purpose of this research is to find the relationships among attributes of creative problem solving ability and their relationships with the Math Creative Problem Solving Ability. In addition, the attribute patterns of high, medium, and low mathematical creative groups were identified and compared. There were 409 fifth and sixth graders recruited from two elementary schools in Taiwan. The attributes of creative problem solving ability were measured by the Creative Problem Solving Attributes Inventory, which was newly developed for this study. The students' scores on the Creative Problem Solving Attributes Inventory compared with the students' scores on four established instruments: the Math Creative Problem Solving Ability Test, the Creativity Assessment Packet, the Critical Thinking Test-Level, and the Inventory of Family Process. The high, medium, and low levels of the creative groups were compared to reveal the critical combination patterns of the five attributes of the creative problem solving ability. Attributes in Cho's Dynamic System Model of Creative Problem Solving Ability all directly and/or indirectly affect students' creative problem solving ability. The results showed that creativity is evidenced as multi-faceted and domain-specific. The data showed three different patterns of attribute composition and the threshold effect on students' creative problem solving. In addition, the CPSAI produced good internal consistency, good construct validity, and marginated discriminant validity with the data Most of the subscale scores of the CPSAI significantly correlated with other established instruments with medium to high effect sizes. As the subject sample is restricted to students in Taiwan, at present, the generalizability will be limited to this population.
