摘要

随着世界经济全球化的发展,改革开放的深度加强,国际贸易往来日渐频繁。建立贸易关系类商务信函作为传递合作意向的载体,在经济和贸易交流中起着重要的作用。
  本研究以Halliday的系统功能语法框架下的人际意义和Martin的评价理论为理论体系,从五家公司搜集50篇建立贸易关系类商务英语信函为语料,从语气、情态、人称系统和评价体系四个方面系统地对此类信函进行人际意义分析。研究发现,语气主要类型为陈述句,目的在于介绍公司信息以及传递合作意向;情态手段多以中低量情态词为主,意在委婉表明意向,易于对方接受;人称方面多使用第一人称复数以及第二人称,有利于减少距离感,实现“面对面交流”;在评价系统方面,信函作者会运用大量评价性词汇表达态度并试图劝说对方建立业务往来。
  本研究探索信函中人际意义实现的各种语言手段,希望能给商务信函的写作和教学起到一定的现实指导作用,同时丰富人际意义的研究。
