摘要

本文的主旨是通过仔细研读海明威笔下的女性人物，看其如何展示女性的，从而发掘他始终不逾地追求男性与女性的和谐共处，这一点与当代女性主义提倡的男女和谐共处而不失个性的观点不谋而合。　　本文介绍了评论家对海明威的女性人物的传统观点，以否定占据主导地位；运用女性主义理论对海明威女性人物进行解读；具体分析海明威笔下的女性人物，并给她们进行相应的分类，确定为三种不同的角色，即：传统妇女，现代妇女和理想妇女；海明威主张男女在情感上互补，与当代女权主义强调的男女文化话语的互补，男女平等，和谐共处不谋而合。对海明威笔下女性人物的阅读不仅有助于我们更好地了解这位二十世纪最杰出的美国作家，而且更有助于我们了解当代女权主义的主张。
