交际翻译理论指导下的科技文口译：第二届WMT实践报告

摘要

近年来，随着计算机人工智能研究热度的提升，具备前沿性的英语文献受到国内外科技领域读者的广泛关注。同时，更多的人参与到英文科技文献撰写工作中，文献来源较过去变得更为丰富，内容跨度也越来越广，使得当今科技英语文本呈现出明显的多样化特征。科技英语文本兼有传达信息以及表达、号召的功能，科技英语描述的是真实世界和自然中的客观现象和规律，以达到传播知识为目的。　　本文结合国际机器翻译会议WMT 17（Second Conference on Machine Translation）上所涉及的科技英文口译实践案例，采用纽马克的交际翻译理论，对译者在翻译过程中面临的挑战,包括翻译口吻等方面，从词汇与句法层面对科技英语文本的翻译策略进行分析，进一步分析在翻译过程中译者的作用；阐述在翻译科技文本的时候，重视语义翻译有助于我们进一步理解原文的语义结构，保存原作的措辞色彩；而交际翻译则很大程度上给译者“解开枷锁”，不再拘泥于原文词句翻译，这样处理翻译可以从另一个高层次上展示原作的风格。鉴于此，这两个理论相辅相成，互相依存，结合语义翻译和交际翻译可以更好地指导科技英语翻译，不仅保存原文的逻辑、措辞，又可以实现交流的目的。
