评估非英语专业大学生的词汇知识与听力理解间的关系

摘要

Wilkins（1972：111）认为没有语法还可以传达一点点信息，但是没有词汇就不能表达任何信息。国内外研究学者在词汇习得方面做了大量的研究工作，但是大多数研究者并没有将词汇知识与听力理解联系在一起进行分析。本研究就以Nation（1990），Read（1998），Qian（1999，2002）等提出的词汇知识框架为理论基础，通过实验考察不同词汇知识在听力理解中所扮演的角色，并尝试回答以下问题： 1．词汇广度和深度的关系如何? 2．听力词汇量和阅读词汇量对听力理解的贡献哪个更大? 3．词汇深度对听力理解是否也有预测力?如果有，有多大? 4．优秀学生和差生之间在词汇知识与听力理解的关系上有无差距? 本实验首先要将词汇知识分类，从阅读词汇量，听力词汇量，词汇深度的角度去研究。首先，我们将山东工艺美术学院非英语专业七个自然班的总共175名二年级学生作为实验研究主体。我们根据不同的词汇知识类型对其每周进行一项测试，持续四周。随后，我们收集受试者的测试成绩。最后，我们利用SPSS13对测试的结果进行详细地分析和对比。 研究验证了以下结论：1）受试者的听力词汇量小于其阅读词汇量且两者正相关。2）听力词汇量和阅读词汇量对听力理解都有贡献，但前者的贡献明显大于后者3）受试者的阅读词汇量和词汇深度正相关。4）词汇深度对听力理解基本可以确定不相关。5）优生和差生在词汇知识测试中成绩差距明显，其词汇知识与听力理解之间的相关系数也是前者高于后者。 该研究对听力词汇量，阅读词汇量以及听力理解等方面都有很好的指导作用。
