INFLUENCES OF SMARTPHONE ADDICTION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ON FRIEND RELATIONS, ACADEMIC RELATIONS, AND PARENT-CHILD RELATIONS

As the information age comes, the development of the Internet-oriented digital media technology brings significant changes to the society at large, thereby creating new life styles different from the past, even called ′digital revolution′. Especially, the Internet, which is a large information network covering the world, brings convenience for living as well as contributing to the creation of a new individual everyday life. The development of the digital media devices currently reaches a smartphone, and the smartphone is a new type of medium enabling the expansive use of various content as well as the Internet by installing a user-oriented operating system (OS) in an existing mobile phone like a computer. (Kim Daegeun, Tae Jiho, 2010; Shin Hogyeong, Lee Minseok, Kim Hongguk, 2011). Therefore, the present research is going to investigate influences of a smartphone addiction of university students on friend relations, academic relations, and parent-child relations.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
