A Hermeneutic Study on Inevitability of Misreading in Literary Translation

摘要

误读是文学翻译中的一个重要概念。在“忠实”和“等效”原则长期占统治地位的传统翻译批评界，它一直以来都因受到贬低而没有得到应有的重视。因此，弄清楚其存在的原因是解决诸多问题的前提。本文拟从误读对文学翻译的重要意义入手，并结合阐释学，以及中国传统译论与当代西方经典文论的相关理论，试对文学翻译中误读存在的必然性进行一个系统的梳理。 本文共六章。 第一章是全文的引言部分，主要概述了目前学术界对文学翻译中误读现象的研究现状，提出误读必然性是尚需论证的问题，以及对其研究的意义。 第二章论及了误读的定义、存在的背景、大致研究阶段、分类、及其之于文学翻译的关系。在此基础之上，阐明文学翻译中误读现象的复杂性。 第三章主要介绍了阐释学的基本发展历程及其与误读研究的关系。作为一门研究意义理解和解释的哲学和理论，阐释学为当代翻译研究提供了不少新的研究方向。其中，阐释学自身发展的不同阶段为翻译研究重点的转移提供了理论基础，也为误读地位的确立提供了理论依据。该理论的核心概念：视界融合，先有，偏见，此在，意义空白，意义不定点等为消解忠实与等效提供了有力的理论支撑。同时也为误读的存在铺平了道路。 第四章探讨了文学作品的定义，特征和内在矛盾，及其与误读的关系。文学作品是一个矛盾的结合体，这一矛盾性是导致误读的直接原因。其中，它的传承性是导致文学翻译的首要条件，但是它与译者之间的“融合”也是产生误读的关键所在，而历史的不可重构性则是消解“忠实”和“等效”原则的历史唯物主义基石；互文性强调文学作品间的相互参照和意义增值而成为误读的现实依据，民族性强调民族心理的不可超越性，这为文学翻译中误读的存在披上了民族性外衣；文学作品的不确定性为译者的积极参与创造了条件，而确定性则因其不可核实而让位于误读。 第五章对文学翻译中误读的存在进行了多方面的阐释。首先论述了作为文学翻译工具的语言和意义的关系，以此说明语言本身不是一个可靠的表意手段。既然“语言”不可靠，“意义”就成为译者翻译文学作品的必然选择。然而，通过论证“语言”和“意义”是有机的结合体，以及“经验作者”意图与文本意图的分离，纯粹的“意义”也是不存在的。随着“意义”的被悬置，误读成了文学翻译的唯一出路。此外，本章还从哲学，信息论，译者和原作者的权势关系来探讨了误读的必然。另外，通过引入经济学中的等价交换原则来类比文学翻译中的误读，使得它的产生显得更为直观。在前文理论支撑和多方面论证的基础上，本章以苏轼诗《题西林壁》为个案研究结尾。第六章结语再次重申了文学翻译中误读存在的必然性，并总结了本文的研究思路，提出了研究的不足和作者以后可能的努力方向。
