大学英语课堂跨文化交际能力培养的研究

摘要

在全球化飞速进展的背景下，由于社会需求不断提高，跨文化交际能力越来越成为大学生不可或缺的技能之一。对中国大多数大学而言，大学英语课程是针对非英语专业本科生所设的必修课程因此承担着培养非英语专业学生跨文化交际能力的重要责任。大学英语教学中跨文化交际能力培养已经吸引了众多跨文化交际学者和外语教师的广泛关注。然而，现有的大多数研究或者以英语专业本科生为研究对象，或者以非英语专业本科生为对象的研究却只关注跨文化交际能力中的某一要素，还有一些研究仅对跨文化交际的不同理论进行综述和评论。鲜有研究既关注非英语学生跨文化交际能力现状和他们对大学英语课堂跨文化交际能力培养的评价和具体需求;又同时涉及大学英语教师对跨文化交际理念的理解程度以及他们的教学方法中所反映出的对培养学生跨文化交际能力的重视程度。因此本文作者试图以上述几方面为视角展开研究，以期为大学英语教学中跨文化交际能力培养提供一些建议。
　　作者选取上海某重点高校的363名非英语专业大学生与33名大学英语教师为调研对象。数据收集工具包括一份社会文化测试题、两份分别针对学生和教师的跨文化交际能力问卷。其中社会文化测试题采用王振亚的版本，旨在测试目前非英语大学生的跨文化交际能力以及可能影响他们跨文化交际能力的因素。两份问卷以拜拉姆的跨文化交际能力相关理论和作者前期的课堂观察为基础，评估调研对象对跨文化交际能力的了解并探究大学英语教学在跨文化交际能力培养方面的不足。借助SPSS16.0，作者以定量、定性相结合的方法对所收集数据进行计算和分析。
　　研究结果表明:尽管大多数学生能够意识到跨文化交际能力的重要性，他们实际跨文化交际能力仍很欠缺，而且并不与英语语言水平相关。另一方面，大学英语教师虽然对跨文化交际能力有一定的了解，然而他们的教学方法却显示出他们对学生跨文化意识和实际跨文化交际技能培养的忽视。文章最后，作者基于调研结果为大学英语教学跨文化交际能力培养提供一些建设性建议。
