功能主义目的论视角下文学理论作品Novel Violence的翻译

摘要

费米尔提出的目的论是功能派翻译理论的核心理论，他提倡把翻译从源语文本中心论的束缚中完全解放出来，彻底实现了与以文本为中心的等值论的决裂，从一个全新的视角来诠释翻译活动。该理论体系以目的为总则，把翻译放在行为理论和跨文化交际理论的框架中，为西方翻译理论界开辟了一条新的研究道路，它对外国文学理论研究具有很高的参考和借鉴价值。
　　 本文从作者对Garrett Stewart所著文学理论作品Novel Violence的英译汉翻译实践出发，在10余万字翻译实践的基础上精选约1万字进行分析，对其中的较难的字、词和句的特点和所采用的翻译策略进行研究和探讨。本文引入功能目的理论作为其理论框架，全面涵盖费米尔的目的论以及曼塔利的翻译行为理论和诺德的功能加忠诚理论对目的理论的拓展，并结合目的论的三条原则，运用目的论中的译者意图性、接受者角色、合适翻译、翻译行为、功能加忠诚五个方面主要理论观点来指导本书的翻译，并结合五个观点，运用增译、减译、顺译、分译、重组、转译、逆译等具体的翻译方法和技巧对所抽取的具体实例进行详细分析研究。作者认为，目的论视觉下匹配的翻译策略能够很好地指导Novel Violence翻译，让译文的翻译质量得以很大的提升。
