摘要

阅读作为基本技能之一在英语学习中占有重要地位,而学习者内在阅读动机在阅读中是至关重要的。无疑培养学生的内在阅读动机是提高学生阅读能力的一个十分有效的途径,因此非常有必要培养学生的内在阅读动机。美国语言学家StephenKrashen于1982年提出了休闲阅读并通过实验证明了该阅读能增加学生语言的输入从而有效地提高阅读成绩和阅读动机。 为了培养学生的内在阅读动机,从而在课内外更有效地进行英语阅读。本研究运用实验组和对照组的方式,设计了为期18周的旨在培养学生内在阅读动机的休闲阅读项目,对休闲阅读在培养学生的内在阅读动机有效性方面进行了有益的探索。研究对象为黄冈师范学院外国语学院2006级两个班的学生,共61人,由同一位老师授课。休闲阅读项目分为课内、课后两部分:课内主要是小组阅读、配对阅读、课堂讨论;课后则要求学生做阅读日志,从而对一周(每天)的阅读情况进行归纳和反思。对实验数据的研究采用定量和定性研究相结合的方法:定量研究针对英语内在阅读动机问卷、阅读能力测试,数据收集后用SPSS统计软件进行分析;定性研究针对休闲阅读日志,访谈进行归类分析。 研究结果表明,休闲阅读能够提高内在阅读动机;培养内在阅读动机能够提高学生的阅读理解成绩。鉴于此,本研究建议教师应该积极创造良好的课内课外休闲阅读环境帮助学生培养内在阅读动机,同时在培养学生内在阅读动机方面,教师应结合英语教学实际情况,发挥更加积极的作用。
