多克特罗成长小说中自我身份的叙事建构

摘要

美国犹太作家E.L.多克特罗擅长以重要历史事件为创作背景，巧妙运用各种叙事技巧，来展现特定时期的美国社会全景图。在其创作实践中，多克特罗十分注重作品主题与叙事技巧之间的紧密联系。《鱼鹰湖》、《世界博览会》以及《比利·巴斯盖特》是多克特罗于上世纪80年代相继发表的三部以美国30年代经济“大萧条”为背景的小说。这三部小说都以成长小说的文类模式为依托，由叙述者通过回顾性叙事来讲述幼年成长经历，以达到理解过往经历和建构自我身份的写作目的。根据叙事在自我身份构建中具有的优势以及成长小说的自我追寻主题，本文作者对目标文本做了详细的文本分析，并结合叙事策略阐释了多克特罗成长小说中通过叙事构建自我身份的过程以及结果。
