运用伽达默尔阐释学观点分析文化误读

摘要

文学翻译不仅是语言的转换，还是文化的转换。文化的普遍差异使得翻译中的误读现象时有发生。长期以来，文化误读由于与传统的翻译标准相悖而受到批评与排斥。本文拟借助哲学阐释学，尤其是伽达默尔的主要阐释学观点来对文化误读这一普遍现象作一番分析和阐述，试图揭示其产生的原因或客观必然性及合理性，并进一步探讨其实质与意义，以期人们能够重新审视和评价文化误读。 文化误读可分为有意识误读和无意识误读。无意识误读属于译者应该避免的翻译失误。而有意识的误读属于译者的翻译技巧和策略。有意识的文化误读是本文主要研究的对象，它主要包括价值观误读，政治误读，宗教误读及文化意象误读。 本文将运用伽达默尔的主要阐释学观点：理解的历史性、合法的偏见及视域融合，来说明有意识的文化误读是译者在文学翻译过程中无法回避和克服的现象，它对译者实现预期的翻译效果起着重要的作用。 由于创造性叛逆的概念与文化误读的概念有着诸多一致与重叠的部分，都属于译者的翻译策略和方法，其结果都是对原文的客观背离。都是受制于译者的主观能动性和创造性，翻译目的与读者的接受水平。而特定的历史、社会和文化所形成的译者共同的视域，又一定程度上限制了译者创造性叛逆的充分发挥。因此，文化误读的实质就是译者在一定限度内的创造性叛逆。 有意识的文化误读的积极意义在于它同时丰富和更新了外来文化及本土文化，促进了世界不同文化的融合，并使文学鉴赏与翻译批评更加多元化。因此，有意识的文化误读值得鼓励和提倡，这是对译者创造性的保护也是对文化事业的发展提供了不竭的原动力。
