METHODS FOR SOLVING INVERSE PROBLEMS IN RADAR REMOTE SENSING

In the paper a general approach to solve inverse problems in polarimetric radar remote sensing is considered. Starting from the general statement of ill-posed problems in mathematical sense the special case of inverse scattering problems in polarimetric radar is formulated. Regularization methods to handle inverse problems are described and an illustration leading to an inverse classification problem for determination of the soil humidity using radar measurements is given.
