There was description of the field experiments aimed to investigate the possibility of improvement of depth resolution in ground penetrating radar (GPR) for purpose of detection of subsurface oil or petroleum pollution (e.i. detection of subsurface oil lenses). It was conducted on the basis of measurements of dependence of dielectric properties of typical subterranean rock's samples (clay loam and sand) on humidity and degree of saturation by petroleum.
