Naval District Washington Smart Shore Initiative

The Naval District Washington (NDW) Smart Shore Initiative (SSI) initially began as the NDW Smart Grid Pilot Program (SGPP) in response to national, Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy mandates to increase infrastructure energy efficiency. The NDW SGPP originally focused on piloting smart grid technology but has matured to be a cross-functional program under the SSI. The SSI is focused on re-engineering, integrating and modernizing the people, processes, technologies and procedures that comprise N3, N4, and N6 shore operations.
