Alignment, Track and Tunnels for High Speed Design Criteria Evolution. The Spanish Experience

In this paper we analyze the evolution of specific design criteria for new high-speed lines. The analysis is focused on design parameters of track layout, design and implementation characteristics of turnouts and finally the methodology and limit values considered for dimensioning the cross-section of tunnels for highspeed , taking into account aerodynamic phenomena due to high speed operation in tunnels.
