PURPOSE: A method for yielding the design criteria of a steam system is provided to reduce the time and cost for system design and to minimize the error in calculation by automatically yielding the design criteria. CONSTITUTION: A method for yielding the design criteria of a steam system comprises the steps of receiving the turbine heat balance(S1), determining the operating flow, pressure and temperature(S2), receiving the determined data(S3), calculating the design pressure, temperature and flow by using the received data and by considering the maximum turbine throttle pressure, the minimum safety valve pressure of a drum and the predicted maximum operating pressure and applying the control margin to the operating temperature(S4-S6), selecting the determined operating flow as the design flow(S6), and yielding the calculated design pressure, design temperature and design flow(S7).
