Wales with a population of 3 million is a land of dynamic businesses and great natural beauty. We in the Welsh Office want to see our businesses flourish even more, whilst ensuring the preservation of the natural beauty, which plays such a key part in the very high quality of life that Wales offers. In this brief talk, I would like to explain what this means to the energy, particularly renewable, industry in Wales; to try to summarise the roles of the various parties and the importance of working together in partnership. To finish I will look forward to the coming of the National Assembly for Wales and its possible implications for your industry.
