Groups in Action: Family-Owned Small and Medium Businesses and Society Development In Northern Italy

Social-political scenario is deeply changing.Little companies are generally controlled and managed by families and they are now going through a crisis.The economic system shows problems due to the manager's short time view versus an entrepreneur's long time vision.A second problem concerns the financial approach to economic matters instead of the market supremacy based on the consumer's needs.The economic system in the North of Italy,based on little family companies,was in the past an international flexible and dynamic example thanks to a good integration among cultural system,territory and companies.The entire social system took advantages from this.The hand-over from a generation of owners to the next one,the old cultural values added and integrated with new patterns coming from net-economy and new international rules concerning low and job,are the focus of this work.The family-company,the local community,the cultural peculiarities can play an important role in the social changing.
