AN INNOVATIVE COMPUTER-ASSISTED ENVIRONMENT SUPPORTING LEARNING AND TRANSFER IN DESIGN: A CASE STUDY

This study investigated the effect of using an innovativerncomputer-based Scratch/ePainting learning environmentrnand related learning processes during a 9-week study byrnan individual student. The patterns and features of thernwork and how different learning experiences can berntransferred in different tasks were investigated. Analysesrnof the structure and image design along with observationsrnand interview data produced findings related to thern“different-sized big-block” technique, different types ofrnexperience transfer and metacognition level. The analysisrnresults will provide both educators and researchers withrninsights that can form a useful foundation for the furtherrndevelopment of teaching strategies for using newrntechnologies in school teaching.
