Supporting VTC in an enterprise communications system is anchallenge because of the impact of the large amounts of bandwidth thatnmust be dedicated during each conference. The paper looks at how VTC isnsupported in the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM)nSCAMPI (no acronym) telecommunications system. Demands of bandwidth,npre-emption, switching and routing are examined for VTC, as well asnother voice and data services. The SCAMPI architecture was changed tonsupport VTC through use of an Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN)napplication combined with existing services. The resultingnimplementation provides VTC as a standard service, competing with othersnfor bandwidth. During periods when a VTC is not being held, bandwidthnfor selected other services is automatically increased without operatornintervention
