RoHS Compatible Products

Transition to RoHS compatible passive components is a technical and logistical challenge. As RoHS transition of passive components to compatible products is still going on, many customers are storing RoHS compatible and not RoHS compatible products of the same type of component. To keep these separate a request for RoHS marking is very strong. But one of the major problems today is that the EU commission and its bodies are still working on introduction of new exemptions and on publication of tolerances limits for RoHS substances as well. To mark products as RoHS compatible means that one have to consider the current state of RoHS, or better the state of national enactment, as only the national enactment of EC directives creates legally binding law. As there are no international approved standards for labelling are available, detailed information about the status of RoHS transition of products should be provided by the passive components producers.
