This paper describes a project sponsored by 13 companies andrnthe HSE (OSD) to apply a form of human factors trainingrncalled Crew Resource Management (CRM), which is widelyrnused in aviation, to the training of offshore platform teams.rnThe aim of the project was to design, deliver and evaluate therntraining. 104 offshore workers from five different productionrnplatforms have participated in the course. Their feedback wasrngenerally positive. However, it also indicated a need tornincorporate more offshore case studies and to place emphasisrnon the skills, rather than the theoretical concepts of the topicsrncovered in the training.
