With the advance of information-based society, mass media information will be important resource for college students. By investigating 2216 students from 25 colleges of Hebei province, we analysis the needs of college media sports information and its accessing channels in this paper. The result shows that college students have several motivations of contacting media sports information, different media have the different motivations. For college students, the major motivations of contacting media sports information are acquiring knowledge, learning and entertainment, in order to meet their reality and entertainment needs. Mass media is the important accessing channel. Among them, electronic media (include Internet, television, radio) are the major approach and internet has become the preferred way to sports information.
