Making incoming students aware of university computing policiesrnis often taxing. Beyond the challenge of awareness is therndifficulty in enforcing computing policies, especially in residencernhalls, where many students have the attitude of “I did it at home.rnWhy can’t I do it here?”rnIn this paper, the authors discuss how Northwest Missouri StaternUniversity’s Client Computing Department employs a threeprongedrnstrategy to increase student IT policy awareness throughrnthe use of students as teachers during one month each summer andrntwo whirlwind days in the fall, and through residence hallrntraining, bulletin boards and newsletters. Additionally, thernauthors expand upon how these same students are used to deployrnand enforce university computing policies, which are necessaryrnfor ensuring the security and stability of the campus network.
