Specifications are increasingly requiring lead and cadmium free electroless nickel coatings forrnapplications as diverse as automotive, electronic and food handling equipment. This paperrndiscusses the properties of a wide range of electroless nickel and electroless nickel/PTFErndeposits that are designed to meet these needs. As for traditional electroless nickel deposits,rnthe properties of these new deposits are strongly influenced by the phosphorous content of therndeposit.
