SLSTR/AATSR VIEWING GEOMETRY SIMULATED WITH MISR

The AATSR Dual View (ADV) aerosol retrieval algorithmrnis based on the stereo-viewing capability ofrnAATSR. In our approach the radiances measured in nadirrnand forward views are used to eliminate the surface reflectancerncontribution from the top of atmosphere (TOA)rnreflectance, allowing us to retrieve the aerosol contributionrnwithout any prior knowledge of the surface properties.rnWe are preparing to use the dual-view algorithm forrnaerosol retrieval with the Sea and Land Surface TemperaturernRadiometer (SLSTR) nadir and backward view data.rnIn this paper we consider the effects the changing viewingrngeometry may have on the aerosol retrieval.
