In this paper, a cascade double-loop nonlinear proportional-integral controller is designed to control the boost DC-AC inverter in order to generate a sinusoidal output voltage with amplitude and frequency fixed by the reference signal. The boost inverter topology studied in this work requires a controller that enforces the output voltage to follow its reference. To achieve this objective and also to solve the problem of the non-minimum phase nature of the boost inverter indirect output voltage regulation is proposed: An inner-loop is designed to regulate the current using non linear PI regulator. The outer-loop involves the same idea to force the output voltage to track its desired reference signal. The results of the overall system simulations performed within Matlab/Simulink toolbox are presented and show that the designed controller meets its objective.
